DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone\, \n\n\n\nOur very own Mic Barnette is presenting a program for the Dallas Genealogical Society DNA Special Interest Group this Thursday. Everyone is invited to attend either in person or virtually. \n\n\n\nFor those that don’t know\, we have a CCGS DNA project for male and female testers. You are in for some great surprises. \n\n\n\n\nI will be presenting a talk:  mt-DNA Updated 2025- It’s A Game changer!for the Dallas Public Library and the Dallas Genealogical Society DNA Special Interest Group:Thursday May 15 at 6 PM (Central) in Room 6 D on the 6th floor of the Dallas Public Library 1515 Young Street Dallas Texas 75201.The talk may also be viewed virtually by clicking on the “Join the Call” button at following link:  https://dallasgenealogy.org/event/dna-special-interest-group-47/ \n\n\n\n\nIt is not scheduled to be recorded. \n\n\n\nThe talk will discuss mt-DNA for genealogy and address the new changes in the results upgrade \n\n\n\nFTDNA and the WikiTree Mito-Y team have seriously upgraded the mt-DNA Haplotree and added clustering to your results. In response\, I have updated the two mt-DNA projects I administer.  \n\n\n\nYou can see the Public Viewable Results pages for each Project at: \n\n\n\nSee the T2b5a mt-Haplogroup Results Page at : https://www.familytreedna.com/public/T2b5amtDNAHaplogroup?iframe=mtresults \n\n\n\nSee the K1a4a1b2 VA-New England-Europe Project Public Results Page at: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/K1a4a1b2VA-NewEngland-Europe?iframe=mtresults \n\n\n\nYou can also see both the Project websites that have not yet been updated at :https://micsxchromosome.micbarnette.com/mt-dna-k1a4a1a2-haplogroup-project/ \n\n\n\nThe Results Page listed above show: \n\n\n\n1) Tester’s Kit Number \n\n\n\n2) Surname of tester \n\n\n\n3) The mutations at HVR-1 and HVR-2 \n\n\n\n4) Not viewable on the Public Results Pages but viewable on one’s own Personal Profile pages: \n\n\n\n     a) Legacy Haplogroup-the old haplogroup-(Called Legacy)  There is a badge on your personal page reflecting this Haplogroup \n\n\n\n     b) Mitotree Haplogroup- the new haplogroup (called Beta) – There is a badge on your personal page reflecting this Haplogroup \n\n\n\n     c) The Public Results Chart also does not show the new F-Cluster Group number but it is on your own personal page assuming you have taken the Full Mt-DNA test. \n\n\n\n     d) The new Discover Results are also only on your own personal page. \n\n\n\nIf you are in one of the other (Y-DNA and geographical) Projects I administer\, there is a mt-DNA Results Page for that project as well. Again\, assuming you have taken a Full mt-DNA test look at you own matches and all the tools on your own personal page and see how you and your matches connect.
